Running on the track's short course, Saturday's whole-day open practice session allows drivers to get enough track time to hone in their skill and lets the teams adjust the car's suspension and engine set-up to squeeze out the fastest lap. Each run will consist of a 15-minute session where cars will be released on track in groups of 10. Free practice will begin promptly at 8:00 am and end by 5:00 pm. This lets everyone drive to their heart's content, so we’re all hyped up for racing on Sunday!

At the 6th leg of the 2011 Petron Karting Super Series, City Karting Racing's young talent Tai Zulberti finished on the top spot of the podium after a phenomenal drive from 11th on the starting grid. Held last September 24 and 25, the cadet karts reached speeds in excess of 90km/h on the West Course of the Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Pampanga.
Team spirits were high that weekend as both team drivers Jacob Chamness and Tai Zulberti were excited and prepped up for the races to come. Months of preparation finally paid off when Zulberti clocked the fastest lap in the time trials. But as the first race got underway, disaster struck Zulberti when his kart grinds to a halt. And despite the marshall's best efforts to restart his engine, he was left no other choice but to sit the race out on the grass. The early retirement meant that he would have to start the second race from the back of the grid in 11th.

The boys from the Lateral Drift Productions are hard at work to bring yet another exciting and smoke-filled weekend this September as they gear up for Rounds 6 and 7 of the 2011 Lateral Drift Championship. After an eventful night race and engine killer loop at Rounds 4 and 5 last July, the series returns to the Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Pampanga this September 10 and 11. Round 6 revisits the Tank Slapper that takes the action back to the track's infamous chicanes used in the season's opener. Round 7, on the other hand, brings with it a new challenge by running on fresh patch of the CIS' sequence of corkscrew turns.

The Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI) officially gears up for 2011 - 2012 Car of the Year Philippines (COTY-P), with a launch held last August 26, 2011 at the Congo Grille El Pueblo in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. The Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Pampanga has been host to several motorsport disciplines since it opened in 2008 - from drag races, touring cars, drifting, and even motorcycles. But in 2013, there's a good darn chance that Australian V8 Supercars will also start lining-up on its grid when the series' CEO Martin Whitaker confirmed their interest in staging a race in the country last week. The announcement was inline with plans to expand the series to 18 rounds with six races staged overseas, which includes other race venues such as New Zealand, Shanghai, and Bahrain proposed for 2013's race calendar.

rwyb_2011_1Established by the late Kookie Ramirez in 1998, Run What You Brung (RWYB) paved an avenue for amateur drivers to learn the ropes of auto racing. But when the Subic International Raceway (SIR), the home track of RYWB, closed its doors in 2010 and with Kookie's passing a few months after, we thought that the future of Philippine motorsports disappeared along with them. What we didn't know was that, out of our sights, the Ramirez family has been hard at work to jump start the RWYB series and revive the hopes of aspiring Filipino drivers - all because of the dream of one great man. Join us on June 19, 2011 as Run What You Brung gets back on track at the Clark International Speedway.
