If you've been longing to become a World Rally Championship (WRC) driver someday, you can now live the dream in 1/8th scale with the WR8 3.0 from HPI Racing. This radio-controlled rally car takes shape as the 2011 Ford Fiesta RS WRC and is powered by a two-stroke G3.0 nitro engine with full-time 4WD. Boxed up complete with a 2.4GHz radio system and tarmac tires, this miniature racer is ready to hit stages on tarmac, gravel, or snow.

Drive Mikko Hirvonen's Fiesta RS WRC draped in the official Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team livery. And to complete the scale realism, the WR8 rolls on licensed miniature Michelin Latitude Cross S1 gravel tires used in the WRC, mounted on white OZ rims.

Underneath the cover, there's a solid 3mm aluminum chassis, complete with mud guards and a front skid plate, to stand the punishment of rough and tumble runs. It also comes equipped for performance with a shaft-driven 4WD system, twin disc brakes, and a racing-style clutch so you too can do those Scandinavian flicks. Ground clearance is then adjustable to suit off-road or on-road conditions using clips on its oil-filled dampers. And when it comes to water splashes, HPI made sure to include strong waterproof servos and a splash-proof radio box to keep its electronic components dry.

Unlike the real deal, the HPI WR8 doesn't come with a co-driver, so you'll have to keep it in control with the TF-40 2.4GHz radio system that comes with the kit.

This pint-sized Fiesta comes pre-built from the factory and is ready-to-rally right out of the box. All you need are a few AA batteries for the transmitter and receiver, nitro fuel, and a glow plug igniter to hit the special stages just like Hirvonen. The WR8 Ford Fiesta RS WRC should be available locally by early 2012 from HPI's official Philippine distributor, Action Hobbies, located at 2/F 184B Moto Market Bldg. E. Rodriguez Jr. Ave., C-5 Libis, Quezon City. Catch it as it arrives by logging on to www.actionhobbiesonline.net.
