Suzuki props a new breed of Hometown Heroes

Suzuki Philippines is no stranger to the sport of football. As one of the Azkals' firm supporters at the 2010 AFF Suzuki Challenge Cup, they also hosted the first-ever PFF Suzuki U-23 National Cup with the Philippine Football Federation last year. For the players' relentless efforts in competing for the country's pride, Suzuki Philippines' Motorcycle Division pays homage to a special league of players that deserves recognition for all their hard-earned victories. Dubbed as “Hometown Heroes,” members of the Philippine Men's National Football Team - Chieffy Caligdong, Ian Araneta, Roel Gener, Yannick Tuason, and Paolo Pascual - are embarking on a new campaign with Suzuki to give praise to the the cities they hail from.
All five players of the Hometown Heroes are motorcycle riders, with most of them coming from Visayas and Mindanao. That's why Suzuki's latest campaign gives them the recognition they deserve through billboards and print ads in the cities of Iloilo, Bacolod, Cebu, and Davao, where all these players are from.
"The Hometown Heroes campaign is part of Suzuki's support for football and the National Team. One step to promote our brand in the local arena where football is very popular - the Visayas and Mindanao area. We find football a very effective tool in penetrating these areas for our motorcycle products since it is where this sport is very strong and these hometown heroes are the best icon to represent local football," stated Suzuki Philippines President Satoshi Uchida.
Through Suzuki's Hometown Heroes campaign, there's no doubt that the cities where these national football players came from will get the attention they deserve. After all, these were the birthplaces which helped nurtured their talent and love for the sport.
