MANILA, Philippines (21 July 2015) – With 2 races now in the bag, the Yokohama Philippine GT Championship is gearing up for Round 3 of the 2015 calendar this July 25/26. The series moves to the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) down south after the the mid-year repairs were completed on the 3.4 km race track.

Aside from the change in venue, the race weekend will also see some rule revisions in the GT 150 and GT 100 divisions. Competitors in these classes will be allowed to run on Yokohama S Drive high performance road tires starting this 3rd round, as agreed with the Philippine Race Car Drivers Inc. (PRCDI). The move allows more drivers to join the grid as the S Drive is more economical to run both in the dry and wet. But this will not affect the top guys in GT 300 and GT 200 who still run the more potent AD050 and ADVAN AD08 racing tires.

Expected to head the pack will once again be Team Häfele's Veli-Matti Kaikkonen and W-Autosport's Willie Torres in GT 300. Meanwhile, GT 200 should be a tight battle between Walter Zamora, Paolo Mantolino, and the fastest driver so far this season, Richmon Dela Rosa. Hopefully, Joey Pery will also be able to join the action after his crash in Round 2.

As for GT 150, expect to see Patrick Dela Rosa, Dindo De Jesus, and NR Joaquin fill an all Honda Civic EK grid. But that's if Bong Perez doesn't show up with his new Honda Civic FD race car.

Finally, Ivan Diaz will have to defend his lead against teammate Joginder “King” Sin and Edwin Rodriguez in the Mazda 2 SKYACTIV race car.

Sponsored by Yokohama Tire Sales Philippines, Inc. (YTSP), the race weekend will host the official Practice Sessions on Saturday followed by a 10-lap Sprint Race and 17-lap GT Race on Sunday.

Other support races that will share the track with Philippine GT are the Philminiracers Championship Series and Classic Aspirated Cup. There will also be the Sparco Bracket Circuit Racing and and Sparco Grid Race that can be entered for a minimal entry fee of P2,500/car. This is inclusive of Free Practice on Saturday and a Time Trial, Bracket Race, and Grid Race on Sunday.

The 2015 Yokohama Philippine GT Championship is sanctioned by the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP), sponsored by Yokohama Tires Sales Philippines, Inc., Sparco, and Aguila Auto Glass with support from the official dyno provider, Speedlab.
