Petron Corporation is taking the lead in clean fuels by launching the country's first Euro 4-compliant gasoline - two and a half years ahead the Philippine government's mandate takes effect in 2016. Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4 is specially formulated to meet more stringent and environment-friendly Euro 4 fuel standard. But more importantly, it meets the fuel quality requirement of high-performance and luxury cars such as Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Maserati - something that Petron Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang should know all too well.

Of course, other cars on the road will benefit from Petron's Blaze 100 Euro 4 as well. You see, most of the new vehicles sold locally actually require Euro 4 fuel to run at their optimum performance. And a switch from the Euro 2 fuel most pumps have today to the new Blaze 100 Euro 4 will not only improve performance, but also engine reliability.

According to Petron, Blaze 100 Euro 4 offers the following benefits:
    • Powerful performance due to its extremely high octane and exceptional engine cleaning capability.
    • Fuel efficient operation due to its organic combustion enhancer and custom friction modifier.
    • Enviro-clean because it meets European specifications for cleaner, more environment-friendly fuel.

With 100 RON, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4 prevents “engine knocking” which results in uneven burn, greater fuel consumption, and even cause damage. This is something that new Hyundai and Kia owners should definitely consider next time they gas up.

“As the market leader in the local oil sector, it is our responsibility to be at the forefront of producing more environment-friendly fuels,” Petron Chairman and CEO Ramon S. Ang said. “This new product, Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4, is proudly Philippine-made.”

Euro 4 is a globally-accepted European emission standard for vehicles, which require fuel with significantly low amounts of sulfur (0.005% or 50 parts per million) and benzene (maximum of 1% by volume). Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4 meets the fuel quality requirements of Euro 4 technology vehicles. Currently, the Philippine standard for automotive gasoline allows up to 0.05% sulfur or 500 parts per million and up to 2% benzene.

Petron Blaze 100 Euro 4 will initially be made available in 24 service stations in Luzon along major thoroughfares in Mega Manila, followed by Visayas and Mindanao in coming months.
