The 'must-see' car list of the 22nd Trans Sport Show

The 2013 edition of the Trans Sport Show is taking a whole new direction. Instead of simply focusing on contemporary tuner and custom cars, the country's longest-running car show is putting historic sports cars and legendary race cars in the limelight. This is perfect for the show's theme “Driving Generations” so the oldies can show the newbies who ruled the streets and race tracks first.

This is the “must-see” car list of the 22nd Trans Sport Show that's happening on May 30 to June 2, 2013 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

50th anniversary of the Porsche 911
The very-first Porsche 911 made its public debut at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show. Since then, seven generations have passed making it the world's longest-running sports car in production. It won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1979 and dominated it 15 more times after that - an unmatched record to this day.

To commemorate the special occasion, the Porsche Club Philippines (PCP) will have an impressive collection of member-owned 911's from 1965 to 1973. Other contemporary 911's will also be on display, including a Turbo, RS, RSR, GT2, GT3, a special 930 RUF BTR, and a select group of racing 911's.

60th anniversary of the Chevrolet Corvette
The Corvette was originally designed as a show car at the 1953 New York Auto Show, but it created such a big buzz that Chevrolet decided to put it into production. Like the 911, the Corvette now has seven generations of heritage - from the very first C1 to the latest C7. With the abundance of Corvettes in the Philippines, we're expecting Trans Sport Show to have all first six generations on display (the C7 just went on sale this year and none has found their way into the Philippines yet).

Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM)
Simply translated as German Touring Car Championship, the DTM is a highly-prized race series in Europe in the 80's. This was the battle ground where the likes of the Mercedes-Benz 190E, BMW M3, Audi quattro, and Alfa Romeo 155 became legends. And at the 22nd Trans Sport Show, members of the Philippine DTM Revival will launch a local race series called “Class DTM Championship” so these legendary machines can once again battle on track.

WRC Rally Cars
While DTM was making history on track, the World Rally Championship was turning boys into men on rally stages. A handful of legendary machines will be on display at the 22nd Trans Sport Show that represents the WRC, Asia Pacific Rally Championship (APRC), and most importantly, Group B rally cars. Three of these rally cars include the might Audi quattro (a road-going version will be display), the wild Nissan 240RS, and an Opel Manta B.

JDM
Standing for Japan Domestic Model, “JDM” has become an art form for tuners around the globe - customizing cars just like how the Japanese does it: clean but crazy. And what better way to judge them than by getting Japanese judges. Minoru Gouko, a well-known Japanese auto aficionado, Toshihiko Ohno, former president of Toyota Motor Co. of Japan, and long time Trans Sport Show judge Osamu Hasegawa will lead the panel this year. This means that only the best of the best JDM cars will be on display at the 22nd Trans Sport Show.

Tickets to the 22nd Trans Sport Show are priced at P100 for adults, P80 for seniors, and P50 for children 5 to 12 years old. Children below 5 years old enter for free.
