Crossovers and SUVs are quickly becoming the transport of choice for most people nowadays. They're easy to drive, versatile, and can practically do anything a sedan can, only better. As a matter of fact, manufacturers have begun turning them into luxury saloons and even supercars. And the latest to join in the fray of classy sporty crossovers is Kia, who recently came up with the Cross GT concept.

With this year's hyperactive monsoon season, it's not an uncommon sight to see the roads of Metro Manila underwater within just a few minutes of a downpour. And wether you were informed or not, there are some unlucky few who have had their cars damaged by the floods. Well, if you drive a KIA, you're in luck because the Columbian Autocar Corporation (CAC), the exclusive Philippine distributor of the Korean car brand, is extending a helping hand to aid owners of flood-damaged KIAs.

Over the past decade, the once called “dark horses” of the automotive industry have been coming up with a lot of new and exciting offerings. So much so that, some have ever led to believe that kimchi, is now hotter than wasabi. Yes, I'm talking about the Koreans, and they're really giving the Japanese a run for their money when it comes to making quality automobiles. One of them is KIA, and they've got something new brewing up that should turn the world on its head.
Scheduled to make its official debut at the Paris Motor Show on the 27th of September, KIA just recently released the first teaser images of their upcoming all-new 2013 Carens. They have, however, unwittingly tried to disguise its final appearance by publishing the photo negatives. So, to give you a better view of what it will look like in two month's time, we've inverted the colors for you.

Do you love to drive? I mean, do you REALLY love to drive? If so, you’ve probably been to the racetrack quite a few times. A true track-addict should know the pains of trying to fit a crocodile jack, an emergency kit, tools, a helmet, an extra set of wheels, and racetrack-only tires in the back-seat of your sedan. Well, if you want the perfect answer for your trackday blues, Kia has the answer for you: The Track’ster concept.
Debuting at the Chicago International AutoShow, the Track’ster is an all-wheel drive, 250 horsepower three-door hatchback that previews what the upcoming Soul may look like. So a turbocharged two-liter all-wheel drive hatchback is something Subaru has already done, but the difference is in the execution. The Track’ster is based on the Soul, so it has a “subcompact” footprint, as opposed to the “compact” Impreza.

Car names defined

Words by Christopher Kho and Jade Lu
Car makers across the globe name their latest models after elaborate words from the English dictionary (except for the Europeans who use a labyrinth of letters and numbers) to somehow reflect its prominent characteristics and dazzle their patrons over its obscure moniker. But after a multitude of brochures, advertisements, test drives, and car reviews, have we really given some thought what some of these nameplates really mean? Thankfully, the internet - and notably the guys at Dictionary.com - has put together a list of definitions for some of the most prominent and memorable car models ever to grace this planet.
