Love them, hate them or idolize them, gorgeous models or Women Auto Show Ambassadors Beneficial to Industry as we like to call them are here to stay. Here they are in no particular order as captured by our eagle eyed lensmen.
January 2014 – The Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI) recently awarded the Honda CR-Z Modulo M/T as the winner for the Sports Car category during the 2013-2014 Car of the Year Awards Night held at the Filinvest Tent, Alabang. CAGI is composed of motoring journalists from the broadcast, print and online media who annually conduct qualitative and quantitative tests on participating vehicles.
(MANILA)- The Philippine motoring’s most sought-after performance results were recently revealed and Kia took home two notable awards for Kia Sorento and Kia Carens.
Recently held last January 22, 2014, the 2013-2014 Car of the Year- Philippines (COTY-P) Awards Night gathered the country’s top motoring editors and journalists at the Filinvest Tent in Alabang to bestow top marks for vehicle categories. Kia Sorento LX FWD 5-seater came out on top of one of the major categories– the Best in the Midsize Crossover and Wagon category while Kia Carens LX CRDi bagged one of the coveted Special Awards– the Caltex with Techron Green Award.
We've all seen the awards and we've read the news, but if you've ever wondered how the cars get tested; here's a short video that gives a glimpse on how the Car Awards Group Incorporated does it. It starts early in the morning come test day and the vehicles are processed one by one by the technical team who run the eligible vehicles thru their paces measuring acceleration times, braking distances and handling ability. While that's going on, other CAGI members test drive and rate the vehicles accordingly until each and every one of the cars and trucks for the day has been driven by all the testers. Enjoy the video!
Diamond Bar, CA (November 12, 2013) -- The 2013 SEMA Show is history and has left no doubt that the automotive specialty equipment industry is stronger than ever.
While final attendance figures are being audited, organizers report that more than 126,000 credentials were issued prior to the event, with thousands more processed onsite. The numbers represented a 7 percent increase over the previous year, and the highest in SEMA Show history.
"A trade show is a reflection of the industry it serves," said Chris Kersting, SEMA President and CEO. "The unprecedented participation levels this year indicate the industry is moving into growth mode. This was a record-breaking year and we're seeing companies ready and eager to do business."
LAS VEGAS, NV. (Nov. 5, 2013) - SEMA, the Specialty Equipment Market Association, today announced the winners of the New Products Showcase Awards held at the 2013 SEMA Show. The event recognizes the most cutting-edge automotive products either on the market or about to hit the market. This year, more than 2,000 new products were submitted for consideration.
Criteria that ranked high on the judges' selection for the New Product Showcase Awards included superiority of innovation, technical achievement, quality and workmanship, consumer appeal and marketability.

LAS VEGAS (Nov. 5, 2013) -- This year's SEMA Award for the top trending vehicle models in four categories were announced today at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The Ford Mustang was named Hottest Car, the Scion FR-S took the Hottest Sport Compact honors, the Ford F-Series won Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler received the Hottest 4x4-SUV award.
"The SEMA Show has always been the annual event where the newest and most innovative products are seen first," said Chris J. Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. "The SEMA Award celebrates the industry's unique ability to identify and set the trends that influence consumers worldwide."
