Petron Corp. will cut the price of its diesel products as wells as kerosene, regular and Pinoy gasoline, the company said in tweet late Monday.

The lower prices will take effect starting 6 a.m. Tuesday.

However, Petron will also raise by P0.30 per liter the prices of its premium gasoline products Blaze 100 and XCS and Xtra.

“We will implement the following price rollbacks (VAT inclusive), effective 6 a.m. tomorrow, April 10: P0.50 per liter for DieselMax and Turbo Diesel, P0.40 per liter for kerosene, and P0.30 per liter for regular and Pinoy gasoline, the company said.

Fuel Prices Rolled Back
By ELLSON A. QUISMORIO
April 21, 2012, 7:19pm

MANILA, Philippines - Oil companies will reduce their pump prices on Sunday.

At 12:01 a.m., major player Petron Corp. and small player Seaoil Philippines will slash P0.65 per liter off their respective prices of premium gasoline (including unleaded), P0.50 per liter off regular gas, P0.40 per liter off diesel and P0.25 per liter off kerosene.

Flying V, another small oil firm, said it would shed P0.60 per liter from premium gasoline prices and P0.50 per liter from regular, diesel, and kerosene.

“This (adjustment) is to reflect the movements in the international oil market,” Petron said in a text advisory sent Saturday afternoon.

Effective 1 am Sunday Shell will likewise reduce its pump price for FuelSave Unleaded Gasoline, Shell Super Premium Unleaded and Shell VPower by P0.65 per liter; Shell FuelSave Diesel & Shell VPower Diesel by P0.40 per liter; kerosene, P0.25/liter ; Regular , P0.50/liter.

The Department of Energy (DoE) predicted a few days ago that local petroleum prices would drop this coming week due to the softening prices in the international market.

Oil firms are coming off sweeping price rollback last week wherein prices of unleaded was decreased by P1 per liter, kerosene by P0.90 per liter, regular by P0.70 per liter and diesel by up to P0.80 per liter.

Don't know why they bother announcing it.. considering how big the variance is from station to station.

Still enjoying rather cheap fuel. Our local stations all sell at 54.75... compared to everywhere else where gas is 58-60...

The announcement is for public peace of mind. Lower fuel prices generally make the voting public happier.

Shell to roll back prices of fuel products Saturday (June 9)

June 8, 2012 1:03pm

At least one of the "Big 3" oil firms is rolling back the prices of its fuel products effective 12:01 a.m. Saturday, citing dropping world prices of oil.

Shell said its rollback comes in anticipation of what some Filipinos may consider a long weekend due to the Independence Day holiday.

"We felt that since its going to be almost a four-day holiday magro-roll back kami mamayang midnight," Shell spokesman Bobby Kanapi said in an interview on dzBB radio.

Aside from the weekend, Independence Day – which falls on a Tuesday – is a regular holiday. However, Malacañang said Monday, June 11, is a regular working day.

Kanapi said they are bringing down prices of regular gas and kerosene by P2 per liter; and diesel and premium and unleaded gas by P1.50 per liter.

"Malaking rollback ito (This is a big rollback)," he said but declined to say if further rollbacks are forthcoming next week.

Meanwhile, other fuel firms have yet to announce rollbacks as of Friday noon. — LBG, GMA News

Its good to have a (relatively) big price rollback for gasoline. Hopefully this would be the trend for the next couple of months.

Petron, Unioil also roll back fuel prices
June 9, 2012 7:34am

After Shell and Flying V, at least two more oil firms on Saturday rolled back the prices of its products, citing the reduction in international fuel prices.

In a post on its Twitter account, Petron Corp. said its latest fuel price rollback took effect at 12:01 a.m.

"This is to reflect the reduction in international fuel prices," it said.

It rolled back prices of Blaze 100, XCS Plus, and Xtra by P2.05 per liter; Pinoy Gasoline and Regular by P2.50 per liter; kerosene by P2.10 per liter; and Turbo Diesel and DieselMax by P1.90 per liter.

This was slightly higher than the rollbacks by Shell and Flying V, which also took effect immediately after midnight of Friday.

Meanwhile, "Petrol Price," a Twitter account monitoring fuel prices, said Unioil also rolled back prices of its products.

The rollbacks include P1.50 per liter for premium and unleaded gas and for diesel.

In separate announcements Friday, Shell and Flying V had brought down prices of regular gas and kerosene by P2 per liter; and diesel and premium and unleaded gas by P1.50 per liter.

“We felt that since its going to be almost a four-day holiday magro-rollback kami mamayang midnight (We felt since it is going to be almost a four-day holiday, we would roll back prices after midnight),” Shell spokesman Bobby Kanapi had said in an interview on dzBB radio Friday noon. — LBG, GMA News

Here's something different. Total Philippines is giving a P1.50/L discount today, their 15th Anniversary.

Oil firms roll back gasoline prices, but hike prices on other products
August 28, 2012 6:24am

Oil firms Shell, Chevron and Total on Tuesday rolled back their prices of premium and unleaded gasoline, but increased prices of other oil products.

Effective 6 a.m. Tuesday, the companies rolled back prices of premium and unleaded gas by 45 centavos per liter, radio dzBB reported.

But the oil firms also increased prices of other products, including:

- 75 centavos per liter for diesel
- 60 centavos per liter for kerosene

The price adjustments came amid plans by some transport groups to seek a fare hike for jeepneys, from the present P8 to P10, due to the high cost of fuel and spare parts. — DVM, GMA News

Probably about time to give that PUV price hike...

Brent Oil moving sideways right now, which is good for us. I don't think gas prices will rise significantly in the last quarter of the year... the world really can't afford more expensive oil.
