These Highway Stars strut stylish aero parts by Autech Japan - Nissan's tuning subsidiary founded in 1986. It’s the same group that teams up with Nismo for some of its motorsport outings. But unlike other outrageous aftermarket bodykits, the pair of Highway Stars shine with a quintessence of elegance, where its aesthetic add-ons blends well with each vehicle's style.

Nissan's X-Trail CVT now comes fully-loaded for only P88,000
Nope, they're not kidding, Nissan Motor Philippines Inc. (NMPI) really is pitching their fully-loaded X-Trail CVT 4x2 for a very low downpayment of P88,000. This SUV just got better with new upgrades such as dual headrest monitors, side step boards, window visors, a bumper overrider with skid plate, a rear skid plate, and a reverse camera with back-up sensors. The Nissan X-Trail Experience: Going where no other crossover could

Lets face it. No one really buys a crossover these days with the intention to go off-roading. It might come with four-wheel drive and stand a foot off the ground, but the only rough terrain it will ever have to cope with are the ginormous pot-holes along EDSA and those pesky security guards at a mall's parking entrance. But lo and behold, there's actually one crossover that dares to step up to the challenge and break the stereotype. Take a good look at Nissan's X-Trail CVT.
Just over a year old, the trusty X-Trail bears an uncanny resemblance to the model it replaces. Without messing with the tried and tested formula, it simply improves on it by growing a bit larger, packing a bit more power, and shifting to a new 6-speed Xtronic Continuous Variable Transmission (XCVT). Though it might not look the part, we discovered just how capable this crossover really was on the rough stuff.

Nissan X-Trail X-Train Challenge

Regular readers at Kotse.com would recall that a few weeks ago, I wrote about a road trip to Pico de Loro in Batangas which took us through a challenging bike trail. Well, exactly a week later, I was up early again for Nissan Motors Philippines Inc.'s (NMPI) X-Trail CVT test drive-slash-road trip.
Our destination for the day trip was some three hours away in Acuatico Resort, San Juan, Batangas which meant that a 6:00am call time would give me plenty of seat time spent in the X-Trail. My phone rang at exactly 5:45 am and the guys from Nissan informed that they're just 20 minutes away from the agreed pick up point. Getting there several minutes before they did, the group arrived in a Nissan Urvan consisting of Business Mirror's Ira Panganiban, Manila Bulletin's Iñigo Roces, and Auto Review's Ron and Ronald delos Reyes. Although I know that it's going to be a long day, I wasn't going to be the one to make it longer for the other guys in the van.
