Ford's display at the recently-concluded 9th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) was by far this year's biggest - spanning the entire length of the World Trade Center and measuring at 1,000 sq. meters in floor space. Ford's entire line-up was proudly on display, from the pint-sized Fiesta all the way to the colossal Explorer. They were all poised in the spotlight, outshining even the leggy models in high heels beside them.

But tucked away at one corner were two little white trucks that only a few peering eyes noticed. They might not be the prettiest or fastest on display, but we're pretty sure that both can easily outsell all other Ford nameplates 100-to-1. We're talking about the new Ranger 2.2L 4x2 Chassis Cab and Single Cab - tough trucks that will help your business go places.

Apparently, the all-new Ford Ranger's “21st Century Tough” styling is still not enough for some people out there. They want something harder, something stronger, and something much, much tougher, with 4wd. So Ford Philippines is expanding the lineup to unleash the Ranger's wilder side to surely knock the socks off these unbelievers. Get ready, because conquering a dealership near you this April is the all-new Ranger Wildtrak - available in three manly variants.

Who would have thought that a 10 month old, P1-million, 2wd pick-up truck would eventually become Ford Philippines' best-selling model? You read that right. In February 2013's sales report, the blue oval brand managed to sell 251 all-new Rangers - beating sales figures of the Everest, Explorer, Focus, and Mustang. This helped Ford record a 108% year-over-year sales jump to 865 units. And this coming April, Ford will further expand the all-new Ranger line-up with the introduction of the Ranger Wildtrak at the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) which should help boost the numbers even higher.

It's not quite the 1,248 units they achieved back in October, but this one's pretty close... real close. This November 2012, Ford Philippines reported overall retail sales of 1,225 units which is a mere 23 units shy from their best-ever monthly performance last month. That's a huge 46% increase from the same month last year and makes it the blue oval brand's second-best performance in history.

Ford is really bringing their A-game. They've already have won two international awards this year. The first was “Van of the Year 2013” for the new Transit custom, followed by “International Engine of the Year” for its 1.0 liter EcoBoost engine found in the new Ford Fiesta. And now on their third straight win, Ford bagged the “International Pick-Up Award 2013” for their all-new Ranger.

Only nine units shy of their best-ever monthly sales performance in December 2011, Ford Philippines recently reported this year's best with 964 units sold in September which is a 68% jump over the previous month's disappointing 574. This is indeed a very welcome news for Ford after they struggled with a supply issue for the first half of 2012. *whew*

According to the report, the boost came from the blue oval brand's newcomers: the all-new Ranger, all-new Explorer EcoBoost, all-new Focus, and the Mustang muscle car.

Who would have thought that a three-ton pick-up truck can actually get better mileage than a fun and frugal subcompact hatchback? Yes, that's right. In a recent fuel economy run supervised by the Department of Energy (DOE), the all-new Ford Ranger clocked up 1,623 kilometers on a single tank of fuel that averages an incredible 19.44 km/L. That's 0.44 km/L better than what the Ford Fiesta did in an similar run last year.

Would you believe that, in just its first month out in the market, Ford managed to sell 246 units of their all-new Ranger last July 2012. This marks the best-ever sales of the pick-up since its introduction into the country back in 1999. When you put that into perspective, those numbers make up for 33% of Ford Philippines' total sales of 745 units for the month, which earns them an astounding 23% year-over-year increase

Helping drive the numbers up is the lovable Ford Fiesta, which delivered retail sales of 236 units in July. With this performance, the five-door Fiesta maintains its title as the country's best-selling hatchback.

When the all-new Ranger debuted at the 2012 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) in late March, Ford Group Philippines (FGP) said that deliveries of their latest pick up truck are not expected to arrive until July. Still, dealers gladly accepted reservations from eager customers. And after the long three-month wait, true enough, they've kept their promise. The blue oval brand announced that stocks of the Thai-built truck have finally arrived in the Philippines and are now available in Ford dealerships nationwide

“We are thrilled to start deliveries of our class-defining all-new Ranger and invite our customers to test drive the Ranger at their nearest Ford dealership,” said Dino Obias, Assistant Vice President for Marketing for FGP.

After months of teasers, previews, and a supply problem pushing back the launch date by a month, the country's most-anticipated pickup truck has finally arrived. Once and for all, we got to see Ford's all-new Ranger in the flesh when it made its official Philippine debut at the 8th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS)

With all the build-up, the all-new Ranger lives up to all of our expectations without a doubt... well, at least whilst standing still on the show's floor. It looks just as good in person as it does in pictures, and it's only when you get up close do you truly comprehend what Ford meant by its “21st Century Tough” styling. And with its large fenders and high beltline, the all-new Ranger ain't afraid of flexing its muscles. While the high pedestal where it was mounted certainly helped enhance its bulk, let me assure you that this is one hell of a big truck. Measuring 5.274 meters long and 2.13 meters wide, it’s almost as big as an F150.
