It's already considered a milestone when a person gets to live up to 80, but it's even more impressive for a company. This September, Petron Corporation is celebrating its 80th birthday with a bang! And so that everyone will be part of the festivities, they've going to have year-long activities for their customers to enjoy called “Petron Road to 80 Rewards.”
From March to April, get a reward every time you gas up at Petron.

The biggest treat of all is the Petron Value Card “Free Fuel for a Year” treat that runs from March 1 'til April 30, 2013. Petron Value Card (PVC) members get to win the grand prize of FREE FUEL FOR A YEAR (or equivalent to P120,000 worth of fuel). Earning points and raffle entries for every purchase of P250-worth of Petron fuel.

Petron Corporation shuts down 21 shady service station dealers

The hardworking men and women at Petron Corporation have shed their blood, sweat, and tears to get the Philippine oil giant, and its more than 2,000 stations nationwide, where it is today. But apparently, they've discovered that there have been a few weasels amongst their ranks that have been destroying their company's good name. And earlier this week, they reported that the contracts of some 21 service station dealers were terminated over a 12-month period - from January 2012 to January 2013 - for “dumping” activities.
According to their report, “dumping” happens when a service station gets their fuel supply from other sources of questionable quality. Then, they pass it off as Petron products to some unfortunate customers who unwittingly load their vehicles with substandard products.

Petron Value Card now offers more than just fuel rebates
Do you regularly gas up at Petron? Well, here's one very good reason why you should every single time you fill up. Available to anyone who patronizes Petron products or services, the Petron Value Card is a rewards card for loyal customers that entitles them to rebates, discounts, and even road side assistance.
To get one, you just need to present P500-worth of Petron receipts at any participating station. If everything goes as planned, the attendant should be able to issue your Petron Value Card on-site so you can start enjoying its perks. This is how you can get rewards:

Petron offers “Libreng Kape’t Balita” to jumpstart your day
Got a long day ahead? Petron offers FREE coffee and newspaper at participating stations nationwide to jumpstart your day.
From 6AM to 9AM everyday, simply gas up with at least P300 worth of Petron Diesel Max, Pinoy Gasoline, or Regular Gasoline and get one (1) sachet of San Mig Coffeemix and one (1) copy of Bandera. But fill up with P600 worth of Petron Blaze 100, XCS, Xtra Unleaded, or Turbo Diesel and they'll trade the paper for a copy of the Philippine Daily Inquirer.

*UPDATE* 'Passion for Porsche' promo hits Petron with their own toy car collection
*UPDATE*
We just got confirmation that all five Petron Porsche toys are 1:32 scale die cast metal models. Equipped with a sound chip and LED head and tail lights, the car alarm and flashing lights is triggered when you open the doors.
If you don't fancy Shell's LEGO Ferrari collection, perhaps you might want to hop over to Petron as they offer their own toy car set in German. The 'Passion for Porsche' promo lets you take home your very own Porsche whenever you gas up at Petron.
Collect all five (5) Porsche toys that plays engine revving, horn, and car alarm sounds. They also come with working LED head and tail lights, opening doors, and pull-back action. We're guessing that these are 1/32 scale die cast models, but we haven't seen them in person just yet. Models available are the Cayman, Carrera 911, Panamera, Cayenne, and by December 1, 2012, the 911 GT3 RSR. No assembly required.

Petron announces winners of “Blaze Your Way to the Grand Prix”
Back in July, Petron kicked-off a promo that will give four lucky trill-seekers the chance to watch the Singapore and Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix live. One can get a raffle ticket simply by gassing up at Petron with their MasterCard. And now that the contest has come to an end, Petron is proud to announce the winners of the “Blaze Your Way to the Grand Prix” promo.
The first grand draw was held last August 24, 2012, and packing their bags for the Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix this Sunday, September 23 are Albert Lim from Pasig City and Raymundo de Leon from Marikina. The FREE trip they've won is inclusive of round-trip air fare, 4 days 3 nights hotel accommodation, 3-days Marina Bay Grandstand race tickets, a Universal Studios day pass, travel insurance, and an F1 survival kit.

The winners of Everyone's Vision Petron 2012 Student Art Competition
Themed “Lakbay Alalay Para Sa Kalikasan - A Journey of Nurturing Nature,” the 2012 Everyone's Vision Petron Student Art Competition focused on the different ways of caring for and protecting the environment, such as Petron's efforts to protect biodiversity through coastal management, reforestation, mangrove planting, creating fish sanctuaries and artificial reefs, and protecting sea turtles.
This year's competition collected a record-breaking 1,700 entries in three categories: Painting (oil, acrylic, and water-based media); Photography, and Printmaking. And to serve as judges, Petron invited three National Artists - Benedicto Cabrera, Napoleon Abueva, and Abdulmari Imao - along with Wig Tysmans for the photography category and Raul Isidro for the printmaking category.
Awarded in a ceremony held last August 30, 2012 at the Diamond Hotel in Manila, here are this year's Everyone's Vision Petron winners.

Petron's Lakbay Alalay extends aid to environment and health projects
What used to be just a nationwide motorist assistance service, Petron's Lakbay Alalay program has now extended its scope beyond helping things on four wheels. Beginning this year, they've kept themselves busy by giving environmental and health projects a helping hand.
Now, you too can help save the planet whenever you gas up at Petron through the Petron Lakbay Alalay Biyahe Para Sa Kalikasan program. Getting a fill-up allows you to join the “Stick it Free, Plant-a-tree” activity and get a single sticker, equivalent to one tree seedling that will be named after you during Petron's tree-planting activities. In partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Philippine Army, volunteers from Petron and other groups joins together to plant trees in Cebu, Davao, and Metro Manila.

All you need is a land area of the right size located along a well-travelled thoroughfare. And after the feasibility study, Petron will select the appropriate station configuration to match.
