E-cig on four wheels: The Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Concept

Porsche gives in to tree huggers yet again. The Stuttgart-based company recently unveiled the Panamera Sport Turismo Concept to display the proper marriage of “drive technology” and “evolution of the Porsche design for tomorrow.” I guess what they're trying to say is, it's the latest hybrid from Porsche and it hints of what Porsches eventually will look like in the near future.

The Porsche World Roadshow: A day with 10,000 horsepower

Ok, perhaps it's not exactly 10,000, but with the least capable vehicle available for testing producing almost three times more than your typical subcompact, while the most powerful easily over 500, to it's easy be lulled into thinking that the day's selection had a total power output was within that region... or a bit more. In fact, the experience could undoubtedly be the automotive equivalent of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey's “The Greatest Show on Earth.” This, ladies and gentlemen, is the Porsche World Roadshow = a day wherein every model in the Porsche catalog are driven in the manner they were designed to be driven, made possible only by Porsche AG and PGA Cars Inc.

Panamera Turbo S, Porsche's new top dog grand tourer

In the never-ending search for more power, the Germans’ blitzkrieg philosophy has taken the Panamera to new heights. Proving that the 4.8 liter V8 wasn't strong enough, Porsche has rammed a biturbo down its windpipe, further increasing its output to 550 horsepower and shooting up the torque to 750Nm. If by any chance that's not insane enough, the overboost function in the “Sport” and “Sport Plus” modes of the Sport Chrono Package Turbo will unleash the full 800Nm. The Panamera V6 Sport Driving Experience

Porsche Philippines headed by Robert Coyiuto III, recently held a one-day sport driving activity for the Porsche owners and customers at the Clark International Speedway in Pampanga last February 19, 2011.
“This driving program was patterned after Porsche’s very own internationally acclaimed Porsche Road Show event,” reveals Coyiuto III. He adds, “We are very happy to have our drivers experience first hand from the veterans of circuit racing how to maximize the potential of our cars.”
Dubbed the Porsche Sport Driving Experience, two Panamera V6 cars were driven by some thirty customers under the professional supervision of the legendary Ramirez racing clan lead by Menchie Ramirez, PGA Cars Motorsports Manager, champion race driver Georges Ramirez and current Philippine Touring Car Championship contender Stefan Ramirez. The participants experienced the Panamera V6 while tackling several exercises on the track designed to highlight it’s features. It gave them the opportunity to exploit the Panamera’s power and handling, as well as highlight its distinctive character of being both a luxury sedan and a true sports car all rolled into one.
