Here we go again boys and girls. Tuason Racing School (TRS) is on the lookout for the next batch of Champions of the Future (COF). This grassroots training program will take aspiring kids aged 7 to 13 years old and turn them into real race car drives. Learn how to race go karts in a well-organized, cost-effective, safe, and fun environment that's created to bring out the driving talent in every child.

The Karting Clinics will be held at none other than the country's premier international go-kart track in Carmona, Cavite. There, students will be taught the basics of racing, racing discipline, and other techniques under the tutelage of multi-titled racing champion JP Tuason.

There are, however, some physical qualifications to join. Aside from the age requirement, kids must not be more than 5 feet tall and have a waistline that's no more than 30 inches. Of course, physical fitness is a big plus as motorsport is after all, a sport.

Registration is only P4,500 for kids aged 7 to 13, and P8,000 for 14 years old and above. The fee is inclusive of (1) racing gear, (2) racing kart use, (3) consumables, (4) instruction, and (5) meals. But early birds will get a 30% discount if you register on or before February 15, 2013.

TRS' Champions of the Future 2013 will hold classes on February 23, March 16, and April (TBA). Only 25 driver slots are available per clinic.

The 9th ATMC has been rescheduled to June 24, 2012.

Paying tribute to the late Arthur Tuason,
Tuason Racing School (TRS) is bringing back the Arthur Tuason Memorial Cup (ATMC). The 9th edition of the ATMC comprises of a sprint and 4 hour endurance race, made up of a field of Formula SL go karts, and run back-to-back with the first race of the 2012 Champions of the Future (COF). So suit up for a whole day of karting on February 26, 2012 at the Carmona Race Track

Entry fee is P2,500/driver for the sprint race and P10,000/team for the endurance race. And to make things more exhilerating, a P25,000 cash prize await the sprint champion (with minimum of 20 entries) and a P50,000 grand prize for the endurance champion team (with minimum of 10 entries), plus many more prizes are up grabs from the 9th ATMC's sponsors.

The first Karting Clinic of the Castrol Champions of the Future (COF) was held last January 16, 2011 at the Carmona Race Track in Cavite where 27 kids, aged 6 to 13 years old, all gunned out to be part of the exclusive 20 young drivers who will be given race scholarships to the 2011 Champions of the Future Series in March. The children of touring car champions and racing enthusiasts, Stuart MacDonald, Sean Redpath, and Vice Governor Marc Leviste joined in the field of young aspiring racers. They were also lined up with the young ones of motoring media guys such as Kotse.com's Ferman Lao, Speed Magazine's Manny Delos Reyes, and Star Columnist Cito Beltran.

The group of young drivers underwent three kart training sessions, which included several exercises to help them understand how to drive a kart properly. The sessions were conducted under the watchful eyes of Tuason Racing School (TRS) instructors' International Kart Champion and race coach Mike Tuason, with Champion Karters Basti Escalante and Jacko Reyes. The COF program provided all participants with complete protective gear including helmets, gloves, and long-sleeved shirts.

With training expertise under its belt, TRS ensured a safe and controlled environment throughout the clinic, where the only concern the beloved parents had to deal with was the cost of karting, as explained to them by multi-awarded race car driver and internationally-trained race coach JP Tuason. In all 12 years of guiding racers, TRS has produced most of the Philippines' racing champions today.

“Karting is the basic motorsports discipline where all Formula One champions like Michael Schumacher started their careers. We would like to see the number of young karters to flourish through this grassroots program. Our goal is to create the next batch of Filipino racers that can reach the Formula 1 dream,” said TRS president JP Tuason.

Castrol, the world's leading lubricants company, has been at the forefront of Formula 1 racing for the past 61 years. Looking at Asia as the next powerhouse in the world of motorsport racing, the Castrol Champions of the Future series is aimed to give kids aged 7 to 13 yeas old the perfect opportunity to live up their racing dreams and start their careers in motorsports. This program provides a safe and cost effective way to bring out the driving talent in every child.

Racing scholarships, in the form of equipment and running cost subsidy, will be awarded to 20 youngsters who have shown discipline, determination, and an innate talent in racing. They will then compete in the 2011 Castrol Champions of the Future series - a four-leg racing series that starts in March 2011. The series will put them on a level playing field as they race wheel-to-wheel on identical go-karts. The overall series champion will be given a Race Scholarship worth P100,000 from the Automobile Association of the Philippines (AAP) to run at the National Karting Series under the apprenticeship of JP and Mike Tuason.

The program's next Karting Clinic will be on March 6, 2011 at the Carmona Racetrack in Cavite. Clinic Costs are 60% subsidized and will cost only P3,500 per day. Series races will start in March and will run until summer.

During the Karting Clinics, 20 scholarships will be awarded to the most qualified kids, which will see them race in the 2011 Castrol Champions of the Future Series. The series puts these juvenile racers on a level playing field as they race wheel-to-wheel on identical go-karts for a spot on top of the podium where trophies will be presented to the top three drivers.
