It's time to shift it in high gear as the Rotaract Club of Chinatown - Manila and Chiang Kai Shek College FBAS Alumni Association Class 2012 brings you Gear Up 2K12, happening on May 27, 2012 at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA), By the Bay. Featuring the best in classic, modern, and concept cars, Gear Up 2K12 is not only about all about showcasing the prettiest on four wheels, but will also help raise awareness on safety driving. And the most important thing of all, proceeds from this event will be donated to the Payatas Elementary School for their Back-to-School Program and the Club's community service efforts.

Gear Up this Sunday from 1:00 to 10:00PM and see the best sheet metal vie for 24 coveted car categories. And when the sun goes down, party all night long with performances from the Playgirls and music from the best DJ's in town.

Drag race demons take to the strip as Emperor Motorsports and Speedlab bring you the 0 - 400 Challenge on March 17, 2012 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) to see who's the real king of the quarter mile. The special motorsports day will also feature a Speedway Auto Show, Loudmatch, and Car Porn Racing's Drift Fest in one big event.

Entry fee is P2,500/car with a P5,000, P3,000, and P2,000 cash prize for each of the class winners:

Class A	Faster - 11.49
Class B	11.5 - 12.49
Class C	12.5 - 15.49
Class D	15.5 - Slower

Putting everything on the line, there's also a Special and Heads Up class for real dare devils. Special class categories include: all motor, all Honda, all turbo, all rear wheel drive, all front wheel drive, all 4 wheel drive, and all old school. Heads Up class racers, on the other hand, will be battling for: 13 - 13.99, 14 - 14.99, all 1600cc, all 2000cc, all NA, and all Turbo. Entry fee for the Special and Heads Up class is an additional P500/car where the pot money is winner takes all.

Registration is from 7:00 am to 9:00 am and awarding is at 5:00 pm.

Get drenched at Porn Fest, the first in the Philippines to feature a Gymkhana Challenge and Car Show in one big event. Organized by Car Porn Racing, it will also be host to other activities such as R/C car drifting, shotgun rides around the gymkhana track, waterless carwash detailing, merchandise booths, and most importantly, feature drop dead gorgeous umbrella girls. But if you think you're faster and sharper behind the wheel, race against the clock in the Gymkhana Challenge. Gymkhana is a timed motorsport event where drivers must navigate through slaloms, 180 degree hairpin turns, 360 degree spins, and figure 8's. Watch these cars slide, drift, and squeal their way through the obstacle course. Registration for the Gymkhana Challenge is only P500 per car, while shotgun rides will be P200 per round.

Speedlab Grand Eyeball and Trackday

It’s time to put the pedal to the metal at Speedlab's Grand Eyeball and Trackday on October 29 to 30, 2011. Run on the Clark International Speedway's (CIS) short course, put your car and driving skills against the clock. Saturday will be an open track day session to allow competitors to set up their rides and practice their driving skills, but on Sunday we go racing!

All vehicles must first go through technical inspection for safety and classification. Each driver will then be allowed on track during free practice for a 15 minutes session in groups of 10. Free practice will be open all day from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, so you can drive to your heart's content.

During race day, drivers will go head-to-head in timed solo runs, competing in different classes according to time brackets. Each competitor is only given three laps to set his or her best time and the quickest time in each class wins. So, rev up your engines and take racing off the streets at the Speedlab Grand EB and Trackday.

To join, simply submit the registration form, deposit the corresponding entry fees, and e-mail the deposit slip to outdoor.autofest@gmail.com. Car clubs can avail of a special group rates for up to 15 drivers.

Trackday Guidelines

CAR PREPARATION. Make sure your car is safe and well-maintained, as it must be able to pass a technical inspection on tires, suspension, steering and brakes.
SAFETY. All vehicles must at least be fitted with a standard three-point belt or better. Remove all loose objects from the vehicle to prevent injury. All drivers are required to wear a safety helmet. Bring your own if you have one, otherwise, a limited number will be available for rent from the track.

For the past several years, car shows have began sprouting out like mushrooms that they've become as common and ho hum as your roadside sari-sari store. Overrun and pushed around by some prominent personalities, most showcase the same old rides and churn out the same old winners. But a special group of momentous motor-heads reckons that they've got what it takes to break the car show cliché by bending the rules and throwing in an oddball of judges at the 4th Beat My Car North Auto Show. On August 20, 2011, from 10am to 10pm, drive-in through the Eton Centris Walk at the corner of EDSA and Quezon Ave. for a different kind of car show.

Car show judges have always had to cope with the dilemma of fending off sour graping contestants and keeping their sentiments unbiased. Though, no matter how reputable and knowledgeable they may be, there will always be times that their assessments and integrities are questioned. That's why the people behind the 4th Beat My Car North Auto Show are bringing in a fresh set of judges from Japan and the U.S. to put this show back on a level playing field. They've even drawn specific rules and codes of conduct to keep things straight, such as: “never judge a vehicle that you helped build or restore”, “never argue in front of the car’s owner”, and “never make derogatory remarks about a car”. Hopefully, by going the extra mile and taking extra measures, they're going to prevent foul words or fists from flying, with only ego's getting hurt.

At the 4th Beat My Car North Auto Show, as much as 85 awards will be given away for category winners and runners up, so no one really goes home empty handed. We're actually quite excited about how some of the show's unique and best categories turn out, such as the Best Car Show Presentation, Most Unique/Original, Best Racing Look, and Kid's Favorite Car. The organizers are even showing their appreciation for early birds and the most organized team with special awards. And for those who like things done “old school," there's a special “Classic” category to fill their appetite for vintage.

The Beat My Car north auto show is organized by JRS Gallantry Production and is now on its second year of bringing people who share the same passion for cars together. Don't you dare miss this show, staging lanes on August 20, 2011 at the Eton Centris Walk, EDSA corner Quezon Ave.
