Ahh sports cars. I always find myself amazed when I see one on the road, let alone when a bunch of them are lined-up on the street. And one particular model that never fails to capture my attention is the Genesis Coupe. But just like clothes and shoes, sports cars, no matter how pretty they may be, do tend to go out of fashion over time. So five years after the first Genesis Coupe came out, it seems like Hyundai is ready to come out with a replacement. Feast your eyes on the new HND-9 Concept, which we speculate to be the next-generation Genesis Coupe.

Long before the Laser, Lynx, and Focus, there was the Ford Escort. Its life started in the late 60's as a great family car and proved to be a equally-great rally car as well. But after 32 years in production and six generations, Ford decided to pull the plug and replaced it with the Focus that we have today.However, a lot has changed since Ford last built an Escort. More specifically, China's boom has transformed it into an economic giant. It's so big that they're now the world's largest producer of motor vehicles and account for almost 1/3 of the annual global car sales. With this, it's a no-brainer for automobile manufacturers to take advantage of their fast-growing car market by tailoring specific models just for them. And Ford's solution is to revive the Escort as a concept that's intended solely for China.

While the rest of the world still moon over cars that debuted at the Bangkok and Manila International Auto Show, two cars caught our eye which could indicate that Honda thinks the future lies in China. The Honda Concept C and Concept S were unveiled at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show. Yes, we're bringing this news to you a year late because back then, we didn't think much of the two concepts. It's only now that we realize that these could be the next generation Civic and Jazz.

By now, you should have seen photos of Subaru's new WRX Concept that was unveiled at the 2013 New York International Auto Show. If you still haven't, we've got a bunch of them for you to enjoy, so scroll down first and take a good look before coming back here. Now that we're all on the same page, I think we all will agree in no uncertain terms that it is indeed a stunner. Right?
But however the information presented, or rather, the lack thereof, it seems to indicate that Subaru is keeping a lid on things. Other than stating that the next-generation WRX will be heavily influenced by the design direction taken by the Concept, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. of Japan is tight lipped. They did however say that it “will focus on sharp handling, AWD grip, and turbo power.” This leaves us guessing that it will quite possibly have it's own distinct model instead of being part of the Impreza lineup. So, will the WRX Concept ever hit production?

Most, if not all, hatchbacks, whether subcompact or compact, will always have a sedan counterparts to suit different people's needs in terms of looks and space. And at the 34th Bangkok International Motor Show, Mitsubishi premiered their latest global car called the Concept G4. Whatever they like to call it, we'd like to believe is a preview of an upcoming Mirage four-door sedan.

It didn’t take too long for Mitsubishi to go from “not bad” to “much better.” The i-MiEV (short for Mitsubishi innovative Electric Vehicle) was first introduced to the Japanese market in 2009, followed by the rest of the world a year later. And as of December 2012, over 22,000 examples of this EV (although rebadged in other countries) had been sold worldwide.Two-time Dakar Rally winner Hiroshi Masuoka even took on the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb using a muscled-up version of the i-MiEV - the i-MiEV Evolution - in July 2012. It was meant to gather information for Mitsubishi’s R&D team, who hoped to use the data for further developments of future EV’s. Cut to less than a year later, and the fruit of this labor was showcased at the 2013 Geneva International Motor Show. This is the Mitsubishi CA-MiEV Concept.

Toyota's i-Road concept is a practical EV trike for two

Toyota is no stranger to unorthodox personal mobility vehicles. Thankfully, unlike their previous four-wheeled experiments, their latest concept is more geared for realistic street use unlike the old egg- or wheelchair-like drones. The name could use a sprucing, though.
The Japanese automaker recently debuted the i-Road at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. With three wheels, two seats, and zero emissions, the i-Road is a totally electric concept vehicle meant to reduce the energy consumptions attached to transportation.

Still basking in the success of creating “THE” drivers’ car to have - the Toyota 86 - Toyota came to the 2013 Geneva Motor Show to unveil their most-probably-to-be-produced concept of a topless version of their new starlet. And similar to a child star who “grew up” in all the right places, seeing a topless version of that would get mixed reactions. Set your eyes on the FT-86 Open Concept.
Aside from the obvious loss of a roof, an automatic tranny, and interior cosmetics, Toyota says it’s the same banana. Instead of a fixed metal roof, they put in an electronic-folding multi-layered fabric top with a glass rear screen all stowed behind the rear seats - all while maintaining the 2+2 seating format. Some genius might say that the headless horsey will be lighter than the coupe, but the top mechanism doo hickies and additional chassis strengthening doodads might make up for the loss of sheet metal weight.
