The 2013 GT-Radial Circuit Showdown returned to the Batagas Racing Circuit (BRC) last May 4 to host Leg 3 in this year's championship. And now that they're well into the eight-race season, it's easy to predict which drivers will end up fighting for the title by the year's end.

Circuit Showdown managed to achieve a great turnout in this leg despite clashing with the Lotus F1-Manila Speed Show that happened on the same weekend. As a matter of fact, we counted around 100 entries in the Grid and Time Trial race combined.

We first got word in February that Hong Kong-based motorsports group, KC Motorgroup Ltd. (KCMG), will be racing a Nissan-powered Morgan LMP2 at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year. Although these guys have previous experience with Formula Nippon, Super GT300, and Formula 3, this would be their first endeavor in the world of endurance racing. So before taking on the challenge of Le Mans head-on, they tried their hands first at something a bit more manageable: the 6 Hours of Silverstone.

The 2nd leg of the 2013 GT-Radial Circuit Showdown was held last April 6, 2013 at the west short course of the Clark International Speedway (CIS). With over 100 registered drivers and having a grid race with 35 cars on track simultaneously, this was by far their biggest and most successful event ever. Add to that the hundreds of spectators that turned up at the event, earning the championship series the tile of "most sought-after circuit event of its time."

Apart from the newbies and usual suspects, Nino Garcia had to sit this one out in the sidelines after his Subaru Impreza STI retired in the previous leg. And while this marks Carlos Anton's return to the series, his time would not be counted in the overall standings as his green Mark Young Racing Honda CRX were not using approved tires.

The country's fastest-growing trackday event kicked off its 2013 season last March 2, 2013 at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC). Over 120 registered racers joined the first leg of Circuit Showdown, making it one of the biggest turnout in the series' history. The weather might be scorching hot, but at least the track was dry throughout the day.

The usual suspects were once again topping the time sheets. Nino Garcia returns with his Subaru Impreza STI as well as Rafael LaO with his lime green Honda Civic EK hatchback. Meanwhile, Joby Tanseco has a new toy to play with this year. Replacing his exotic Lamborghini Gallardo is a tuned Nissan R35 GTR. The blazing Carlos Anton and his green Mark Young Racing Honda CRX, however, was a no-show in this leg.

The Potenza S001 is currently Bridgestone's flagship high performance sports driving tire. Designed to provide optimum grip in both wet and dry conditions, improved traction and braking performance, and quiet high speed cruising, this makes it the perfect choice for some the world's fastest supercars. It's the same factory-fitted tires on the Ferrari 458 Italia, Aston Martin Rapide, and the Lexus LF-A. But that doesn't mean we need to buy a supercar just to experience the Potenza S001.

Philippine Allied Enterprises Corp. (PAEC), Bridgestone Tires' official distributor in the country, recently launched the Bridgestone Cup - a three part invitational race series where we put their best tires to the test, in terms of track performance, off road abilities, and fuel economy savings.

The first round was a performance challenge held at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) last August. Organized by Tuason Racing School (TRS), it was the perfect chance for us to push their new Potenza S001 to the limits even if we can't afford a supercar. And what best way to do so than in a brand new Toyota 86 and BMW 118d Sport Line.

Blessed with perfect weather, the 7th leg of the 2012 GT Radial Circuit Showdown was held last September 1, 2012 at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC). And because this is the second to the last leg before this season comes to an end, over 80 entrants took to the tracks to keep their championship hopes alive.

The GT Radial - Circuit Showdown returned to the Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Pampanga last June 2, 2012 to stage the 4th leg of its 2012 season. 60 drivers signed up to put on their fastest lap in the Time Trial event, while 32 brave souls went wheel-to-wheel in the three Grid races. The high speed West Course was used once again in the six Time Trial Brackets and two Grid races. The main Grid A race, however, upped the ante and ran the full course in CIS.

Familiar faces were once again topping the time sheets at the 3rd leg of the GT Radial - Circuit Showdown 2012. Held at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) last May 5, Nino Garcia took his second win of the season in Grid A while Carlos Anton makes it three in row in Bracket A. The 91 entrants in the Time Trial and Grid race also had to contend with mixed weather conditions, making driving on the limit even more challenging. Adding to the excitement were the several supercars that competed in the Time Trial event, which made the show even better for the spectators.
