Based on year-to-date figures, Light Commercial Vehicle sales increased by 28% with 16,196 units sold as compared to the 15,759 units last year. Fuso Trucks also contributed to the uptrend with sales slightly increasing by 6.7%, while Bus sales registered a remarkable 53.8% increase.
The country's best-selling SUV and second best-selling vehicle, the Montero Sport, retains its title by recording a total of 6,506 units sold in the first six months of 2012. And as of June 2012, MMPC has sold more than 40,000 Montero Sports since the model was introduced in 2008.
MMPC has high hopes for the second half of this year. Apart from the positive economic outlook and other promotions that they have lined-up, the boys and girls at Mitsubishi are banking on several new models they're launching in the not-so-distant future.
The first to arrive is the new 1.6 liter version of the Lancer EX that's now available in local Mitsubishi dealerships. It will then be followed by the all-new Mirage - MMPC's first small car in more than two decades. The Mirage will be displayed at the 4th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) in August, held at the World Trade Center (WTC). With an economical 1.2L three-cylinder engine, low price, and class-leading features, the all-new Mirage will surely be Mitsubishi's winning ticket.
