The GT Radial - Circuit Showdown returned to the Clark International Speedway (CIS) in Pampanga last June 2, 2012 to stage the 4th leg of its 2012 season. 60 drivers signed up to put on their fastest lap in the Time Trial event, while 32 brave souls went wheel-to-wheel in the three Grid races. The high speed West Course was used once again in the six Time Trial Brackets and two Grid races. The main Grid A race, however, upped the ante and ran the full course in CIS.

Grid Race
Eggy Ong put out a great performance in the 10 lap Grid A race, crossing the finish line with a comfortable 5.979 second margin in front of Rafael La O'. Completing the top three was Marc Thomann who was almost half a lap behind. With a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place finish under his belt, Eggy now leads the championship with 45 points, proving once again that consistency is key to racing. And despite winning two out of the four races this season, Nino Garcia has to make up a lot of ground after we was disqualified from this leg, putting him in 10 points behind Ong.

Unsatisfied with a second place finish, Rafael La O' was a man on a mission in Grid B. He charged from the word go and finished the race in front of Allan Arguelles and Philip Alvendia. But even if the coveted race win has eluded him since the season started, Arguelles can relax with a comfortable 17 point lead in the championship.

There were a a fresh set of faces on the top steps of the podium in Grid C as first-timers this season Adrian Lampano, Mark Saludes, and Marben Nazal took the top three spots.

Time Trials
It comes as no surprise when Carlos Anton once again clocked in the fastest time in Bracket A with a 1:05.003 second lap. This superb performance is 0.063 seconds faster than his previous record, setting a new lap record in CIS. And no matter how hard they tried, Marc Thomann and Edward dela Rosa had to settle for 2nd and 3rd fastest time of the day.

Meanwhile in Bracket B, Grid A winner took the win with a 1:12.176 second lap, followed by Paolo Martinez, and Mark Anthony Castro. But thanks to three consecutive victories, Jun Cruz still leads the points despite a no show this round.
In his first CS appearance, reigning Philippine GT 130 champion Dean Joson topped the sheets in Bracket C, followed by Jem Querimit, and current points leader, Jessie Mance.

The battle got a lot tighter in Bracket D, with only 0.662 seconds separating the top six driver. But it was Edwin Rodriguez who was able to edge out with a mere 0.065 second lead from Michael Bryan Co and Mark Sy. Top honors in Bracket E went to Jay Calano, Christopher Sy, and Ferdinand Uy; while Ferdinand Sia, Jerry Linanag, and Leo Candava sealed it off for Bracket F.

Leg 5 of 2012 Circuit Showdown series will be on July 7, 2012 at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC)
