Ford Philippines on the road to recovery since March

Ford Philippines' dry spell is almost over. After floods in Thailand crippled their supply network for two months, the blue oval brand is finally on the road to recovery as vehicle supply from the kingdom continues to improve. As proof, they were able to record a 50% sales increase for the month of March selling 624 units. And with three new vehicles launched at the 8th Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) plus the arrival of all-new Focus scheduled later in the year, the future definitely looks bright for Ford.

As always, the over-achieving Fiesta lead this months' list by delivering its best-ever month sales of 392 - a 64% increase from February. And even with effects of the Thai floods limiting local supply, would you believe, its overall first-quarter sales actually rose slightly from the previous quarter. Following in a close second is the Escape with 112 units sold, which is a 56% increase from last month.

In its mission to retain the title as the fastest growing automotive brand in the country, Ford launched the all-new Ranger and Explorer 2.0L EcoBoost at the recently-concluded MIAS. While stocks are not expected to arrive until July, they've already taken a head start by accepting orders at the show. But stealing the limelight was Ford's very own supercharged muscle car, the Mustang, which made its first official public debut. At last, Ford will finally have an answer to the bow tie brand's yellow bumblebee when it arrives in Philippine showrooms in September.

If you think those three were impressive enough, wait 'til you see the all-new Focus later this year. Jam-packed with high-tech features such as Active Park Assist, Active City Stop, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Smart Keyless Entry, and Ford Power Start, it's sure to be one sweet ride.

There are also plans of opening 12 new authorized Ford dealerships within the year to support Ford's aggressive growth plans, bringing the nationwide network total to 35.

After all the setbacks they went through early this year, Ford Philippines is ready to bounce bank on their feet.
