“This year, testing will be done through two major components. One is the technical or instrumented test - designed to highlight and showcase vehicles performance, and qualitative (subjective) test—which will be based on personal preferences of the testers, wherein cars will be rated in the same manner as what a typical discerning car buyers looks for.” said CAGI President Ferman Lao.
Previous COTY winners includes the Honda Civic (2005), Mazda 6 (2006), Volvo C30 (2007), Subaru Impreza STI (2008) and last year’s winner, the Subaru Legacy 2.5 Liter GT.
CAGI is a non-stock, non-profit organization of more than 50 motoring journalists from various print, broadcast and online media outlets.

The Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI) officially kicks-off the Car of the Year (COTY) 2010. The COTY awards is now on its 7th year, in search for the Philippine’s best car. The launch party was held last October 12, 2010 at Congo Grille El Pueblo in Ortigas Center, Pasig City. It was attended by distinguished members of the media and representatives from the participating car manufacturers.
