The Audi Urban Concept undeniably looks like a soapbox derby car, and can probably be likened to a modernistic one. If fact, it technically doesn’t fit into any conventional car categories. Entry via tailgate, the roof slides rearwards to open. To boot, it even has free-standing 21-inch wheels surrounded by LED-lined protective plates. (Maybe futuristic is more accurate, then!)
Made purposely for two, there’s more than enough room inside the carbon fiber-reinforced polymer cockpit. The steering wheel and pedals can even be adjusted according to the driver’s own body measurements.
Audi says this concept car “concentrates on the pure essence of sporty motion.” The sketches definitely look promising; one can only wish to see the full-scale prototype in action soon.
