Regarded as the “Philippines' fastest man on two wheels,” Buncio was introduced to the sport of motorcycle racing at an early age. He quickly exhibited his talent for the sport, making his mark by breaking several class lap records at the Batangas Racing Circuit (BRC) - notably the Underbone and 400cc Superbike class records with lap times of 00:02:07 and 00:01:37, respectively. He posted his most recent record in July 2009, equaling his previous record of 00:01:37, this instance riding in the 600cc Superbike class.
Buncio has a long list of achievements in the realm of motorcycle racing, which includes winning the national Superbike category four years in a row. The seasoned rider was also the country's official representative to the Asia Road Racing Championships. More recently, he was recognized as the 2011 Golden Wheel Award's Driver of the Year.
The young champion's talent for two wheels also extended onto other surfaces. Showing his skills in motocross, Buncio won the 1996 FBO Motocross Series at the TRAKSNIJAK Race Track in Tagaytay City (10-year old and below, 50cc class) and the 2002 FMF Memorial Day Motocross Races held at Perris, California (14-year old and below, 85cc mini class).
The Kotse.com family would like to extend our deepest condolences to the Buncio family. He will be greatly missed.
