Also known as the Wiener KammerOrchester, they are Austria’s leading chamber ensemble orchestra that continuously performs with the Arnold Schoernberg Choir, the Wiener Singakademie, dies Vienna Chamber Choir, and the Hamburg Ballet.
The group’s authentic Viennese sound - honed and aged since 1946 - earned them invitations to play in over 70 countries. The Vienna Chamber Orchestra averages around 100 concerts per year, with Manila finally added to this year’s itinerary. Aside from pieces by Beethoven and Vivaldi, the VCO will also be reliving Rodger and Hammerstein’s Sound of Music with our very own Audie Gemora and Joanna Ampil.
Audie Gemora is a seasoned actor, recording artist, and producer among other things. He is among the founding members of Trumpets and Stages. Joanna Ampil, on the other hand, is a multi-awarded theatre actress with successful runs in famed productions such as the Sound of Music, Miss Saigon, Avenue Q, West Side Story, and Les Miserables.
Leading them as the conductor is world-renowned music director, Joji Hattori. Meanwhile, considered as one of the most prominent classical guitarists today, Soichi Muraji will also join the one-night performance.
Witness this special one-night concert for a good cause on November 13, 2012 at the CCP. Doors open at 7:30 in the evening. All proceeds from the Toyota Classics ticket sales will be donated to the Toyota-City of Santa Rosa - Gawad Kalinga Village Project.
