Volvo PH issues special plates for brand new Volvos
It was only a month ago when the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) began implementing a new number coding scheme for brand new vehicles. Memorandum Circular No. 06 entitled “Guidelines in the implementation of the UVVRP for new vehicles without license plates but with conduction stickers” required new car owners, specifically those who have yet to be issued plates by the LTO, to prominent display the conduction sticker number “on spaces allotted for regular license plates in front and at the rear of the vehicle.”
The problem was, the MMDA simply wanted car owners to copy the conduction sticker number on a piece of card board and place it on the plate number holder. So unless you've got serious art skills, chances are, your home made temporary plate will look like a preschooler's art project and so will your brand new ride.
Luckily, new Volvo owners won't have to go through this trouble. That's because Volvo Philippines is providing them with specially-made conduction plates until the LTO issues them license plates.

Volvo North EDSA now open to serve YOU
Volvo Philippines is bringing the Scandinavian brand a lot closer to their would-be customers in northern Metro Manila. Now open to serve YOU is their newly-opened dealership, Volvo North EDSA, located at Two Cyberpod ETON Centris, EDSA corner Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
From what we've seen, Volvo North EDSA's showroom floor already has two Volvos on display, but can possibly fit as much as four Volvos at a time. It, however, does not offer servicing and you'll have to bring your vehicle to Volvo Makati for its preventive maintenance service.

Volvo hints arrival of all-new V40 in the Philippines by Q1 2013

Back in December 2012, we dropped by Volvo Makati to catch up with our friends from Viking Cars Inc. And while checking out their showroom display, we chanced upon their latest 2013 brochure. It listed down all their dealerships, including the upcoming Volvo Alabang and Volvo North EDSA, with their full line-up for the coming year. Of course it had the C30, S40, S60, V60, S80, XC60, and XC90. But there was a particular one that caught our eye, one that wasn't on the list a few months back. It was the all-new Volvo V40. According to one of their staff, it's coming first quarter of this year.

Volvo Philippines now offer Polestar performance package
Since 1996, Polestar has been Volvo's motorsports partner and performance tuning arm. Think of them as what AMG is to Mercedes-Benz. And at last, Volvo Philippines is ready to get racy as they now offer performance tuning packages from Polestar.
The performance package currently being offered is an ECU reflash, or what they call as a “software upgrade,” to increase engine output. This can be done by any authorized Volvo dealer in the Philippines, which means that the Volvo factory warranty will not be voided. Likewise, the vehicle's original service schedule remains unchanged because the Polestar performance package has been tested and verified not to stress any component beyond its performance limits.
