2013 Malaysian F1 GP tour packages now available thru RRT
If you can't make it to Melbourne for the Australian GP, here's the next best thing. Red Rock Travel (RRT), the Philippines' F1 tour authority, is now selling packages for the 2013 Malaysian Formula 1 Grand Prix. Starting as low as US$ 1,089 per person, you can now watch 22 screaming Formula 1 cars bang wheels at the Sepang International Circuit from March 22 to 25.
Your US$ 1,089 will get you: a 4 day 3 night hotel stay at the Cititel Express with daily breakfast; roundtrip airfare via Malaysia Airlines, K1 Grandstand tickets, two day round trip transfers, and travel insurance. MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli succumbs to injuries in Malaysian GP crash
On lap two of the 2011 Malaysian GP, MotoGP rising star Marco Simoncelli met a fatal accident while battling with Alvaro Bautista for fourth position. Simoncelli lost control of his Gresini Honda and inevitably veered across the track at turn 11, straight into the path of Colin Edwards and Valentino Rossi. Both riders collided with Simoncelli, knocking his helmet off in the process. As Simoncelli lay motionless on the track, the race was immediately red-flagged.Edwards likewise fell but escaped serious injury, while Rossi managed to stay on his bike and return to the pits. The 24-year old Italian rider was taken by ambulance to the Sepang circuit's medical center, but at 4:56 pm local time Simoncelli sadly succumbed to his injuries.
