Traffic rerouting scheme for Makati's 2013 New Year countdown party
If you work, live, or pass through Makati City, then you should take note that they're holding their traditional New Year's Eve Countdown Party on the corner of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue once again. This means that as early as 12:01AM of December 29, 2012 (Saturday), both directions of Ayala Avenue (from Paseo de Roxas to Parkway Drive) and Makati Avenue (from Dela Rosa Street to Paseo de Roxas) will be closed to vehicular traffic until January 1, 2013 to make way for stage construction, equipment placement, and fireworks display preparation.
So to avoid the hassle, here's the traffic rerouting scheme that will be implemented (see map for reference):
Buses from EDSA shall take Sen. Gil Puyat Ave. (Buendia) in going toward SSHW or Pasay City and vice versa.
Light vehicles from the north or south of EDSA and McKinley Road going toward Gil Puyat Ave. or Legaspi Village area shall take Arnaiz Ave., right at Paseo de Roxas to destination and vice versa.
Light vehicles going toward Salcedo Village area may take Ayala Ave., turn right at Apartment Ridge, left at Sta. Potenciana St., left at Paseo de Roxas to destination.
Vehicles along Makati Ave., from Gil Puyat Ave. going toward Ayala Center or EDSA shall turn right at Paseo de Roxas, proceed ahead and left at Esperanza St. or Arnaiz Ave (Pasay Rd.) to destination and vice versa.
Private vehicles from Glorietta area going towards Gil Puyat Ave. may turn right from Parkway Drive to the opposite lane of Makati Ave. (short counter-flow), right at Dela Rosa St., right at Paseo de Roxas, left at Ayala Ave. to destination.
