There was a time when BlueWave along Macapagal Blvd. was THE place to go, before a certain mall around the corner opened. Still, the place has survived thanks to free parking and a handful of good restaurants serving those who don’t want the hassle of finding a pay parking slot and doing a 3K marathon just to eat. And Papa J’s Wiches n’ Wings perfectly fits the bill with their affordable sandwiches and chicken wings as their come-on food. And as the full crew of Kotse.com was at hand, we made sure that we picked from their all-time favorites to give you a hint of what to expect from them.

No, you haven't been accidentally misdirected to a travel blog, as this still is Kotse.com. We're just so stoked with our experience at Segara Suites that we had to share it with you.

We went on a recent road trip to Subic Bay for a much needed break; and quite frankly, we couldn't have come to a better place. Located at one end of Waterfront Road, it's just a stone's throw away from Subic's night life, but secluded enough for ample privacy inside a compound that also houses Segara Villas, Total Indulgence Spa, and Asian Spices.

For those of us who aren’t quite sports fans, more so fans of American football leagues, the highlight of Super Bowl XLVI may be one of two things: Madonna's epic half-time show or the heap of witty car advertisements. Other than Christina Aguilera’s American national anthem faux pas, last year’s Super Bowl was a good season for commercials. And who can forget the sudden eruption of the hunky “Old Spice Guy” and the adorable “Darth Vader Kid?”

There were some familiar themes this year while others welcomed new faces. For instance, men probably gave a sigh of relief when Adriana Lima shows off her angelic physique for Kia. Sorry ladies, Isaiah Mustafa’s screen time had passed. Acura and Honda, on the other hand, recruited the services of Jerry Seinfeld and Matthew Broderick for their star-studded show. Without further adieu, let’s take a look at some of the best car commercials from the Super Bowl XLVI 2012.

After our first stint as food critics, our taste buds were more than happy to reprise the role. Our second victim: Bubble Tea in Wilson Street, San Juan, aka the "Tokyo Milk Tea Place." Now, it’s pretty easy to guess the specialty of the house, but rest assured, this contemporary Japanese restaurant had a lot more to offer than just milk teas. With a long menu of food and drinks, zeroing-in on few choice dishes wasn’t that easy. We have a feeling this would be one of our constant challenges, but we like this kind of problem, and after much pondering, we were finally able to place our orders.

Truth be told, us guys at Kotse.com love food. We find comfort in familiar cooking, aversion towards fast food, and zest for new flavors. We review these meals amongst ourselves, taking this activity for granted; not realizing this skill for tasting will come into good use one day. That day came and, needless to say, we were quite excited to add “eating” in our job descriptions.

Our first victim: Chuck’s Deli located right in the front of Serendra at the Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. They’re known for their burgers and sandwiches... err... slabwiches. What’s a slabwich, you might ask? It’s a hungry man’s dream: two slabs of 10-inch ciabatta stuffed with piles of meat and veggies between them. (And by ‘stuffed,’ we mean half a kilo’s worth!) We were also tipped off about their yummy Arce Dairy milkshakes. With everything sounding good on the menu, making decisions on what to eat can be pretty tough, so we opted to order the best-sellers and see what the hype was all about. Let’s eat!

After five long years of waiting, it’s finally here. With a reputation of being the best driving simulator experience, Sony finally released the fifth installment of the Gran Turismo series last November 25, 2010, with an eight-month delay from its planned release schedule. But after the agonizing wait, I consider myself fortunate to have grabbed a Limited Edition copy.

Unraveling The Box
Along with the game disc, the Limited Edition came with an “Ultimate Car Guide,” which is almost as thick as a typical car user manual. It has all of its pages printed in full color on glossy paper and contains details on auto racing history and tuning approaches and a list of all the cars in the game - 1,031 to be exact. You also get an access code for the PSN network to download exclusive content.
