No, you haven't been accidentally misdirected to a travel blog, as this still is Kotse.com. We're just so stoked with our experience at Segara Suites that we had to share it with you.

We went on a recent road trip to Subic Bay for a much needed break; and quite frankly, we couldn't have come to a better place. Located at one end of Waterfront Road, it's just a stone's throw away from Subic's night life, but secluded enough for ample privacy inside a compound that also houses Segara Villas, Total Indulgence Spa, and Asian Spices.

A well deserved break
The Suites is an 18-room boutique hotel for those who want to get away from the hectic life in the Metro. It's a place to go to for a true R&R vacation where you're not obligated to any “must see” or “must do” of the locale’s attraction. Though you can if you want to, as Subic offers numerous attractions that would rival any other tourist hot spot elsewhere; the ambiance and atmosphere of Segara Suites is just perfect for a laid back break for those who prefer a quiet day in a serene environment. As a cool breeze blows in from the bay, it makes spending a whole day lazing by the pool side that much more desirable.

Greens decorate every nook and cranny of the facility, surrounded by a bamboo perimeter fence that transports you to another place, away from the hustle and bustle of urban living. Thoughtful placement of waiting areas, lounge chairs, and other numerous personal spaces all over the hotel gives visitors, whether in groups or solo, their own private space should it be desired.

There are 10 Double Deluxe rooms and 8 Superior rooms split among the 2 floors of the hotel. Double Deluxe rooms offer two twin beds, while Superior rooms have a single California-sized bed - both of which are over 30 square meters in size and each with its own private patio. Space is well utilized as the rooms have more than enough area to move around in and accommodate as much as four occupants and their visitors. Plus, the beds they have are so comfortable that, quite frankly, staying indoors all day under the sheets is not too far off from ones' mind.

Connected by pathways to the main hotel is the Asian Spices Bar and Restaurant, which provides casual chic cuisine for even the most discriminating of foodies at fair prices. Their menu offers diners a fine mix of the specialties of Indonesian, Thai, Malay, and Filipino dishes. All the dishes are so artfully presented that they can easily rival other more expensive restaurants elsewhere. Naturally, such a place is open to discerning visitors and diners other than hotel or villa guests with more than ample parking available.

Rounding up the road trip
The best part of Segara Suites has got to be their staff. Everyone was genuinely courteous, quick to attend to our needs and wants, and made the stay much more relaxing and enjoyable. Oh, their home made cookies available at the lobby counter for those wanting a munchie coming in a close second. Our stay at Segara Suites was so relaxing that we were actually quite reluctant to leave and hit road for the trip back to Manila.
